Phelps Stokes signed a memorandum of understanding with the National University to work in the area of leadership development.
Dr. Badi Foster, President of Phelps Stokes, visited Colombia in September of 2009. One of the highlights of the trip was signing a memorandum of understanding with the National University of Colombia. The National University is Colombia’s largest and one of the most prestigious universities in that South American country. Dr. Foster met with Dr. Moisés Wasserman, the President of the National University, and with Provost Dr. Beatriz Sanchez.
The two institutions have agreed to begin working together in the area of leadership development for Afro-Colombian and indigenous students. Phelps Stokes will be able to work with the National University’s network of campuses, but will begin by focusing on the campus in Tumaco, located in the Nariño province along the Pacific Coast.
