The U.S. International Coordination Committee to Host "Shattering the Silence" Benefit Concert for the First World Summit of African Descendants on July 15, 2011!
The U.S. International Coordination Committee and the Minnesota Yoruba Cuba Association have partnered-up to host "Shattering the Silence", a benefit concert for the First World Summit of African Descendants event that will be held in La Ceiba, Honduras from August 18-21, 2011. "Shattering the Silence" benefit concert will be held on Friday, July 15, 2011 at 9:00 pm - 12:30 am at the non-profit community arts organization, Bloombars.
Located at 3222 11th Street, NW, Washington DC, the Shattering the Silence" benefit concert will help raise funding for individuals who will have limited resources to attend the First World Summit of African Descendants in August of this year.
Confirmed Artists for this event include: Grammy-Nominated Cheick Hamala, DC Mambo, Vicky Leyva, Frank Rivery Garcia, a Duo from Sehal and DC Casineros.
The United Nations has officially declared the year 2011 as the International Year for People of African Descent.
