The D.C. Center for Global Education and Leadership (CGEL) in partnership with Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) will be honoring the lives lost on 9/11.

The D.C. Center for Global Education and Leadership (CGEL) in partnership with Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) will be honoring the lives lost on 9/11 by teaching peace, appreciation for diversity and global understanding to a new generation of DC schoolchildren. This event will announce an initiative to engage educators, students, parents, community partners and the city’s international community in building a vision for how DC schools can better prepare our students for global citizenship in the 21st century. The event will include a keynote speaker, Dr. Johnetta Cole, a student panel focusing on the students’ personal global experiences, and the recognition of public and private partners who provide global education programs and opportunities for DC students and teachers. As a member of CGEL’s Partner Collaborative, Phelps Stokes encourages attending this event to support global education in DC public schools.
