Phelps Stokes Professional Leadership Internship Program

Program Description:

  • The Phelps Stokes’ Professional Leadership Internship Program is a training program for undergraduate and graduate students who represent a variety of academic disciplines and career tracks.  The internship program is designed to provide interns with complimentary real world experience while providing opportunities to enrich current academic training.  Phelps Stokes interns should have a demonstrated history of being a force for change coupled with an interest in transforming communities worldwide.  Fields of interest can included, by way of example, international education, capacity building, leadership training, community development, and governance.

  • Two key core values that guide Phelps Stokes’ Professional Leadership Internship Program are active engagement and co-production -- where each intern is active in designing the overall learning experience. Each internship session includes an all-day internship orientation session; individualized goal-setting sessions; mid-term and final evaluations; experiential learning opportunities, weekly training sessions, and a personalized capstone project.

Application Process:

  • Interns may apply for one of three sessions: Summer (May – August); Autumn (September – December) and Spring (January – April).  Interns receive a small stipend.
